Description

N-Acetyl Selank Amidate is a chemically modified variant of the classical Russian anxiolytic peptide Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro). The N-terminal acetylation and C-terminal amidation protect the molecule from enzymatic degradation and substantially extend biological half-life.

Per study reports the substance acts like parent compound Selank: modulation of GABAergic and serotonergic pathways with anxiolytic action without typical benzodiazepine side effects like sedation or dependence. Selank was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and is approved in Russia for treatment of anxiety disorders.

The acetylated and amidated variant theoretically brings better pharmacokinetics at the same action mechanism. Direct comparison studies between NA-Selank and Selank are however limited.

Selank itself is used as nasal drops in Russia, so the nasal route is the one on which the peptide was studied clinically. There are no human data on the NA amidate form itself.

This variant is a ready-to-use nasal spray: 10mg or 30mg of N-Acetyl Selank Amidate dissolved in 5 ml saline and 0.4 ml bacteriostatic water (5.4 ml in total), nothing to mix yourself. One spray (0.1 ml) delivers about 185 mcg, or about 556 mcg in the 30mg variant. A bottle lasts for about 50 sprays. It is made fresh once you place your order and ships as an express item. As a powder for reconstitution, N-Acetyl Selank Amidate remains available in vials.

Risks & Safety

N-Acetyl Selank Amidate is considered very well tolerated per study reports. The safety profile follows the parent compound Selank, which is consistently described as low in side effects, without typical benzodiazepine drawbacks such as sedation or dependence.

Observed in research and user reports:

  • Intranasal irritation: with intranasal use, mild burning, dryness or irritation of the nasal mucosa is the most common observation.
  • Fatigue: occasional reports of brief fatigue or calming, as the compound addresses anxiolytic pathways.
  • No data on the modified variant: direct comparison studies between NA-Selank and the original Selank are limited. Robust long-term human data on the acetylated and amidated form do not exist.

This classification does not replace medical advice. Risk and responsibility for any actual use lie entirely with the buyer.

Still have a question?

Write to us, our team will help you.

How does NA-Selank-Amidate differ from Selank?

Selank is the heptapeptide Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. NA-Selank-Amidate additionally carries an acetyl group at the start and an amide group at the end, which are meant to slow breakdown. This has not been studied: PubMed has no publication on the NA form (as of 26 Oct 2026), all data come from Selank.

Has Selank been studied in humans?

Yes, in clinical studies from Russia: 62 people with anxiety disorder or neurasthenia (Selank versus medazepam), 60 with anxiety and somatoform disorders (versus phenazepam) and 70 with Selank on top of phenazepam. None of these studies is listed on ClinicalTrials.gov.

What did the clinical studies show?

According to Zozulya 2008 Selank had an anxiolytic effect similar to medazepam, plus an effect against exhaustion and a mild stimulating effect. According to Medvedev 2014 the anxiolytic effect lasted a week after the last dose. According to Medvedev 2015 phenazepam worked faster with Selank, while drowsiness and memory problems from phenazepam were smaller. The abstracts give no measured values.

How does Selank act in the brain?

In the lab Selank increased the binding of GABA to receptors on brain membranes, as a positive allosteric modulator. In rats the activity of 45 of 84 studied neurotransmission genes changed 1 hour after dosing. After 3 hours it was 22. In human nerve cells in culture Selank alone changed none of these genes.

Does Selank affect the action of benzodiazepines?

In studies, yes. In rats under chronic stress the combination of diazepam and Selank reduced anxiety the most. In the lab Selank at the same time blocked the effect of diazepam on GABA binding. So the substances influence each other, in humans this has hardly been studied.

Which side effects are known?

There are no solid figures. The Russian studies give no frequencies in their abstracts. A review from the US calls Selank a poorly studied Russian drug acting on the GABA system that is sold there as a dietary supplement. There are no data at all on the NA form.
