What is NA-Selank-Amidate?

NA-Selank-Amidate is a chemically stabilized form of selank, an anxiolytic peptide from Russian research. The added acetyl and the amidation make the molecule more resistant to breakdown, so it acts somewhat more reliably and longer than plain selank.

The appeal of selank: anxiolytic, but without the strong sedation and dependence potential of classic tranquilizers.

How it works

Selank acts on the GABA system and on the balance of various messengers and also influences the expression of genes around anxiety regulation. It calms and stabilizes without strong drowsiness.

The amidated variant is more stable in the body, which makes the effect more predictable.

Use (nasal or subcutaneous)

Selank variants are classically used nasally but also work subcutaneously.

  • Nasal: a few drops per nostril, fast and simple.
  • Subcutaneous: a small amount with the insulin syringe, use the calculator above.

What the research shows

A clinical study (Zozulya, 2008) compared selank in generalized anxiety with a classic tranquilizer and found comparable anxiolytic effect without the typical sedation. The GABAergic mechanism is described preclinically (Frontiers, 2017). Most research comes from Russia.

Side effects

  • Generally well tolerated, occasionally mild irritation of the nasal mucosa (nasal).
  • Rarely headache or grogginess.
  • Local reactions with subcutaneous use.

Storage

Before mixing the powder is robust, normal room temperature (around 20 to 25 degrees) is fine, ideally kept in the dark. After mixing, keep in the fridge (2 to 8 degrees), do not freeze. It stays good there for at least 8 to 10 weeks with barely any loss of potency, in practice considerably longer. Swirl or shake to mix, both are fine.
