Knowledge

Everything about Test Cypionate

Description

Testosterone Cypionate is a long-chain ester of the endogenous androgen testosterone, formed by esterification at the 17β-hydroxyl group with cyclopentanepropanoic acid. The eight-carbon side chain makes the compound substantially more lipophilic than free testosterone and therefore released slowly from the oily injection depot.

Per study reports this yields an intramuscular elimination half-life of about 8 days. Study data shows typical dosing intervals of 14-21 days; in clinical research the compound is administered every two to four weeks accordingly. After ester bond cleavage by non-specific esterases, free testosterone is released, acting via the androgen receptor.

In the United States, Cypionate is the standard ester of testosterone replacement research and the anabolic research literature. Its pharmacokinetics are nearly identical to Testosterone Enanthate; in direct comparison studies Cypionate shows a marginally longer plateau due to slightly different oil solubility.

The classic Bhasin study from 1996 established the dose-response relationship of testosterone on muscle mass and strength in the supraphysiologic range - still the most cited reference in anabolic research today.

You can order Testosterone Cypionate as an oily injection solution in 10-vial packs at 50mg/ml or 250mg/ml. Concentration selection depends on volume tolerance and research protocol duration.

Risks & Safety

Testosterone Cypionate has a nearly identical risk profile to Enanthate - one of the best documented of all anabolics. Supraphysiologic doses intervene broadly in the hormonal system. The effects described in the literature are well documented and predictable.

Documented in studies and the application literature:

  • Estrogen conversion: testosterone aromatizes to estradiol. Water retention, blood pressure rise and at higher doses gynecomastia risk are documented.
  • Suppression of endogenous production: exogenous testosterone throttles the body’s own production via the HPTA axis. Testicular atrophy and reduced fertility are documented, recovery after discontinuation is not guaranteed.
  • Cardiovascular: studies describe unfavorable shifts in the lipid profile (HDL falls), elevated hematocrit and an associated thrombosis risk.
  • Other: acne, accelerated hair loss with genetic predisposition, mood swings and, with long-term use, strain on liver and kidneys.

Baseline bloodwork before, during and after a research protocol is strongly advised. This classification does not replace medical advice. Risk and responsibility for any actual use lie entirely with the buyer.

Write to us, our team will help you.

How long does one injection last?

In a study with 11 men the testosterone level tripled on days 2 to 5, free testosterone rose 4.5-fold. Many were above the normal range between days 2 and 7, after 13 to 14 days everything was back at baseline. With an injection every two weeks the levels therefore swung widely between high and low.

Cypionate or enanthate, what is the difference?

In practice hardly any. The esters differ by one carbon atom, once it is split off the same testosterone acts. Many studies therefore allow both, for example the clinic review on subcutaneous use and the review on haematocrit. Several cancer trials on the registry also allow cypionate or enanthate.

Is Testosterone Cypionate approved?

Yes. The ChEMBL database lists Testosterone Cypionate as an approved drug with first approval in 1978. Trials are still running on ClinicalTrials.gov, mainly on very high testosterone levels in prostate cancer. Everything here is the state of research, not a recommendation.

Does subcutaneous work too?

In a clinic review of 63 people injecting cypionate or enanthate under the skin weekly, all reached normal male levels. All 22 who had injected into the muscle before preferred subcutaneous use. Minor, transient reactions at the injection site occurred in 9 of 63.

What about haematocrit?

Testosterone stimulates the production of red blood cells. In a three-year review 66.7 percent of men on injections (cypionate or enanthate) had a haematocrit above 50 percent, 35.1 percent on pellets and 12.8 percent on gel. The men on injections were younger and had higher values at baseline. No PSA rise was seen in any group.

What is bipolar androgen therapy?

A research approach in prostate cancer that switches between very high and very low testosterone. In the randomised TRANSFORMER trial with 195 men time without progression was the same at 5.7 months with monthly testosterone and with an androgen blocker. PSA fell by at least half in 28.2 versus 25.3 percent, side effects were mostly grade 1 to 2. This is cancer research and not a pointer for personal use.

Which trials are still running?

As of 26 October 2026 eight phase 2 trials with Testosterone Cypionate are recruiting on the registry, all on prostate cancer. Two more are running without new participants, one of them on the pelvic floor in postmenopausal women.
