Knowledge

Everything about BPC-157

Description

BPC-157 is a pentadecapeptide composed of 15 amino acids, originally isolated and synthesized from a protective sequence in human gastric juice. The name stands for Body Protection Compound. The substance shows remarkable stability and resistance to enzymatic degradation per study reports, distinguishing it from many other peptides.

Across more than two decades of research, BPC-157 has demonstrated effects in preclinical studies on a wide range of tissues: tendons, ligaments, muscles, bones, skin, gastrointestinal tract, cornea and nervous system. The mechanism is associated with activation of growth hormone receptors in tendon fibroblasts, promotion of fibroblast migration and modulation of NO synthesis pathways.

In studies on Achilles tendon healing following experimental injury, faster biomechanical and functional recovery was observed. Compared to classical growth factors such as TGF-β or EGF, BPC-157 demonstrates strong bioavailability without carrier systems in research models. The substance shows effects in both local and systemic application across studies.

In bodybuilding and recovery research, BPC-157 ranks among the most-investigated compounds. It is frequently combined with TB-500 since both address distinct healing pathways.

You can order BPC-157 in 10-vial packs at 2mg, 5mg, 10mg or 20mg per vial. Size selection depends on duration and intensity of your research protocol.

Risks & Safety

BPC-157 is considered remarkably well tolerated per study reports. Across more than two decades of preclinical studies, no significant toxic effects have been documented, even at high dosages.

Observed in research and user reports:

  • Injection site: mild redness, pressure or transient irritation at the injection site is the most common observation, particularly with subcutaneous use.
  • Circulation: isolated reports of brief warmth, mild dizziness or fatigue shortly after application.
  • No long-term data: robust long-term human studies do not exist. The favorable safety profile rests primarily on animal models and short-term anecdotal experience.

This classification does not replace medical advice. Risk and responsibility for any actual use lie entirely with the buyer.

Still have a question?

Write to us, our team will help you.

Is BPC-157 approved or tested in humans?

Not approved, neither by the FDA nor elsewhere. A systematic review found exactly three human studies with 30 people in total up to June 2026, all without a control group. The registry lists a planned phase 1 trial after shoulder surgery.

How is BPC-157 thought to work?

In vessel cells more VEGFR2 receptors formed, the pathway via Akt and eNOS switched on and more new vessels developed. In rat tendon cells the activity of FAK and paxillin rose and the cells migrated more. BPC-157 also engages the nitric oxide system. A classic receptor with direct binding is not known.

Where do the many healing results come from?

Almost all from animal models: of 36 studies in a review on orthopaedic sports medicine, 35 were preclinical. There muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones healed better. Fistulas in the gut closed as well. A large share comes from one research group.

How long does BPC-157 stay in the body?

Briefly. In rats and dogs the half-life was below 30 minutes. After an injection into the muscle 14 to 19 percent reached the blood in rats and 45 to 51 percent in dogs. It then breaks down into small fragments excreted via urine and bile. Measurements in humans are missing.

Does BPC-157 also work when swallowed?

According to a review it is stable in human gastric juice. In rats it also worked via the drinking water. There are no human blood levels after oral dosing. The oral forms have their own entries in the lexicon.

Can BPC-157 be applied to the skin?

In animal studies, yes. In mice with burns a thin layer of BPC-157 cream improved wound healing compared with a cream without active ingredient. This has not been studied in humans.

Which side effects are known?

No treatment-related side effects occurred in the three human studies, which says little with only 30 people. Animal studies saw no organ damage. One review warns of risks from unregulated manufacturing, contamination and missing human safety data.
