What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide derived from a protective protein that occurs naturally in gastric juice. In a research context it is probably the best-known healing peptide and is linked to the repair of tendons, ligaments, muscles, the gastrointestinal tract and nerves.
It is used subcutaneously, either systemically (e.g. into the abdomen) or near the site you want to target. It ships as a freeze-dried powder you dissolve in bacteriostatic water.
How it works
In animal models, BPC-157 mainly promotes the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) and engages the nitric-oxide system, which is important for blood flow and tissue protection. From that follows the accelerated tissue healing repeatedly shown in preclinical research.
Important for honesty: these mechanisms are studied almost exclusively in animals. In humans, much of it is assumption, not proven.
What you need
For subcutaneous use you need:
- The BPC-157 vial with the freeze-dried powder
- Bacteriostatic water to dissolve it
- U-100 insulin syringes
- Alcohol swabs for the vial cap and the skin
- A sealable sharps container for used needles
Reconstitution
The powder is dissolved in bacteriostatic water. How much water you add sets the concentration, and with it how many units you draw for your dose on the insulin syringe.

When dissolving, just add the bac water, it does not matter if it hits the powder directly. Then swirl or shake until everything has dissolved, both are fine.
Injection
The injection is subcutaneous, into the fat layer under the skin. For a specific target (e.g. an irritated tendon) many inject as close to the site as possible, otherwise systemically into the abdomen.
- Clean the spot with an alcohol swab and let it dry
- Pinch up a small fold of skin
- Insert the needle at a 45 to 90 degree angle
- Inject slowly, wait a moment, then withdraw
- Put the needle straight into the sharps container

What the research shows
Honesty matters here: BPC-157 has a very large number of animal studies with impressive healing results, but barely any solid human studies. Much of the work also comes from a single research group, which limits how far it generalises. It is not approved as a medicine anywhere.

Side effects
In the animal studies BPC-157 is considered remarkably well tolerated, with serious side effects rarely described there. In humans, however, systematic safety data are missing, especially for long use. Mostly only mild injection-site reactions are reported. From the thin data follows: dose carefully and in phases rather than continuously.
Practice
- Use in cycles over a few weeks, not endlessly continuous.
- For a local target, inject near the site.
- Sleep, protein and rest support the healing BPC-157 relies on.
- Keep expectations realistic, the strong data come from animal models.
Storage
The undissolved powder is robust, normal room temperature (around 20 to 25 degrees) is fine, ideally kept in the dark. The reconstituted solution goes into the fridge (2 to 8 degrees) and stays stable there for at least 8 to 10 weeks with barely any loss of potency, in practice considerably longer. The bacteriostatic water brings a preservative that keeps the dissolved form stable for longer.
