Everything about Chonluten

Description

Chonluten (Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic tripeptide of the Khavinson bioregulator class with tissue-specific action on the respiratory epithelium. The substance was developed at the St. Petersburg Institute for investigating age-related respiratory models, with focus on mucosal regeneration and epithelial gene expression.

Per study reports Chonluten modulates gene activity in pulmonary epithelial cells via the Khavinson epigenetic mechanism. Preclinical studies describe effects on mucociliary clearance, secretion patterns and cell regeneration in bronchial tissue.

Compared to Bronchogen (also broncho-pulmonary), Chonluten has a slightly different action focus - more at the mucosal level, less at the bronchial smooth muscle. Both bioregulators are described in Russian research literature as complementary.

Typical application is subcutaneous in 10-20 day courses two to three times per year.

You can order Chonluten as lyophilized peptide in 10-pack at 20mg per vial.

Risks & Safety

Chonluten is classified as very mild in the available literature and is among the most well tolerated compounds of the Khavinson class. In the available preclinical and limited human studies, no relevant toxic effects have been documented.

Observed in research and reports:

  • Injection site: mild redness or transient irritation with subcutaneous use is the most common observation. The tripeptide itself is considered low-reactivity.
  • Very thin human data: the data base consists almost entirely of small, Russian-language studies from the Khavinson environment. Independent peer-reviewed replication and robust long-term safety data on respiratory use are absent.
  • Course-based pattern: the use described occurs in short 10-20 day courses. No data exist on the safety profile of continuous administration.

This classification does not replace medical advice. Risk and responsibility for any actual use lie entirely with the buyer.

Still have a question?

Write to us, our team will help you.

Is Chonluten approved or studied in humans?

As of 26 October 2026 the registry ClinicalTrials.gov lists no trial with Chonluten. A review by the Khavinson group writes that EDG was given on top of usual care in chronic bronchitis and strengthened its effect. It gives no figures. This has not been checked independently.

What is Chonluten made of?

Of three amino acids: glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine, EDG for short, molecular formula C11H17N3O8. In older papers the same tripeptide is called T-34.

What did the study in immune cells show?

A group from Italy, together with the Khavinson group, tested five Khavinson peptides on a human monocyte cell line. After stimulation with bacterial components Chonluten dampened the release of TNF. All five peptides lowered TNF and IL-6 in mature macrophages and reduced their sticking to stimulated vessel wall. It was a cell culture without animals and without humans.

What is known about the stomach?

Under the code T-34 the tripeptide normalised the production of protective and inflammatory proteins in a model of stomach ulcers by influencing the related genes. A review by the group therefore also lists it as protection for the stomach.

How does Chonluten differ from Bronchogen?

According to the Khavinson group both target the airways. Chonluten is a tripeptide (EDG), Bronchogen a tetrapeptide (AEDL). For Bronchogen there is a rat model of COPD, for Chonluten mainly data from immune cells and the stomach.

How is such a short peptide supposed to work?

The Khavinson group assumes that short peptides reach the cell nucleus and influence genes. On the computer EDG fits well into the transporters PepT1 and LAT1 of the cell membrane. The group also suspects an effect against tumours through this. Whether this happens in the body has not been shown.

Which side effects are known?

There are no solid data because Chonluten has never been tested in a registered human trial. Statements about good tolerability come from the research group itself.
