Everything about SLU-PP-332 Oral

Description

SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic pan-agonist of the estrogen-related receptors (ERRα, ERRβ, ERRγ), developed by customers at Saint Louis University. The compound is not a peptide but a small molecule and belongs to the class of so-called exercise mimetics, compounds that activate cellular pathways normally stimulated by physical training.

The research mechanism lies in activation of the ERR family of nuclear receptors. In preclinical studies, these regulate gene expression programs for mitochondrial biogenesis, fatty acid oxidation and oxidative phosphorylation. In animal models, SLU-PP-332 has been associated with enhanced mitochondrial function in skeletal muscle and cardiac tissue without the need for physical activity.

In preclinical mouse studies, SLU-PP-332 showed effects on endurance endpoints, fat oxidation and metabolic flexibility. The compound data is relatively recent (published from 2023 onwards), but mechanism coverage is well characterized.

In research setups, SLU-PP-332 is bioavailable as an oral small molecule, which distinguishes the compound from peptidic research tools.

SLU-PP-332 Oral is available as tablets (various dose strengths, 100 tablets per pack).

Risks & Safety

SLU-PP-332 is a young compound whose data has only been published from 2023 onwards. The mechanism via the ERR nuclear receptors is well characterized, but human data is entirely absent.

Documented in the preclinical literature:

  • Broad nuclear receptor intervention: as a pan-ERR agonist, the compound activates ERR-alpha, -beta and -gamma and thereby intervenes in several gene expression programs for metabolism and mitochondrial biogenesis.
  • Metabolic changes: animal models document altered fat oxidation, metabolic flexibility and endurance endpoints. The systemic effects of sustained ERR activation in humans are not characterized.
  • No human data: no clinical studies exist. Statements on tolerability, dosing or side effects in humans cannot be derived from the literature.
  • Young data: all the evidence comes from a few preclinical studies of recent years; independent replication is largely outstanding.

This classification does not replace medical advice. Risk and responsibility for any actual use lie entirely with the buyer.

Still have a question?

Write to us, our team will help you.

Are there studies in humans?

No. As of 26 October 2026 ClinicalTrials.gov lists no trial with SLU-PP-332 and ChEMBL lists it without a clinical phase. All data come from cell assays and mouse models.

What does SLU-PP-332 do in the cell?

It activates the three nuclear receptors ERRα, ERRβ and ERRγ, most strongly ERRα. These receptors switch on genes for mitochondria and fat burning. In muscle cells mitochondrial function and cellular respiration rose.

What did the mouse studies show?

Sedentary mice ran about 70 percent longer and 45 percent further after 7 days, the share of endurance muscle fibres rose. In obese mice energy use and fat burning rose, fat mass increased less and insulin action improved.

Does it work as a tablet too?

That has not been studied. In the endurance study SLU-PP-332 was injected into the abdominal cavity, two hours later its level was higher in muscle than in blood. There are no data on oral absorption in humans.

What about heart and kidney?

In a mouse model of pressure-overload heart failure SLU-PP-332 improved pumping function, reduced fibrosis and extended survival, mainly via ERRγ. In 21-month-old mice protein loss in urine and inflammation in the kidney fell after 8 weeks.

Which side effects are known?

There are no solid data because SLU-PP-332 has never been tested in humans. In mice no obvious toxicity appeared over 10 days. That does not rule out risks in humans.
