Description
Modalert is modafinil 200mg manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. Pharmacologically it does not differ from our generic modafinil: identical active substance, identical strength, identical profile. The difference lies solely in the manufacturer and therefore in production, quality control and batch traceability.
Sun Pharma is India’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturer and one of the largest generic producers worldwide, with facilities inspected by US and European authorities. Modalert is the brand under which modafinil has run there for years. In practice it is also the name most searched for internationally.
Everything substantive is covered under Modafinil: a eugeroic rather than a classic stimulant, dopamine transporter inhibition without active vesicular release, plus effects on the orexinergic and histaminergic systems. The elimination half-life of 12 to 15 hours is the practically most important number here as well: an afternoon dose pushes sleep into the night. The evidence on wakefulness is solid; the evidence on cognitive improvement in rested people is considerably more sober.
If you want the substance and can do without the name, our generic modafinil is the cheaper option. Modalert is for those who specifically want the brand.
You can order Modalert as oral tablets with 200mg per tablet, 10 tablets per blister.

Risks & Safety
The safety profile is identical to modafinil. Two points are routinely overlooked.
- Severe skin reactions: Severe skin reactions up to Stevens-Johnson syndrome are documented for modafinil. Very rare, usually within the first weeks, potentially life-threatening. Any new rash, any blistering and any involvement of mouth, eyes or mucous membranes is a reason to stop.
- Interaction with hormonal contraceptives: Modafinil induces CYP3A4. Prescribing information notes reduced reliability of hormonal contraception during use and for roughly one month afterwards.
- Sleep shift: A half-life of 12 to 15 hours means one dose reaches from late morning well into the night. Timing matters more than quantity.
- Further CYP interactions: CYP2C19 is inhibited, which concerns diazepam, omeprazole and phenytoin among others.
- Common adverse effects: Headache is by far the most frequent, followed by nausea, nervousness, reduced appetite and dry mouth.
- Abuse potential: Lower than with amphetamines, but not zero.
This classification does not replace medical advice. Risk and responsibility for any actual use lie entirely with the buyer.
