Everything about Vilon

Description

Vilon (Lys-Glu) is a synthetic dipeptide of the Khavinson bioregulator class - one of the shortest and simplest peptides of the class. The substance was developed at the St. Petersburg Institute with research focus on age-related aging markers and immune function.

Per study reports Vilon modulates gene expression in multiple tissues via the Khavinson epigenetic mechanism. Preclinical studies describe effects on lymphocyte function, general aging markers and lifespan-extension indicators in animal models.

In Khavinson’s long-term aging studies Vilon together with Epitalon was described as one of the primary lifespan-extension candidates - in mouse studies documented extension of median lifespan was reported. International replication remains limited.

Typical application is subcutaneous in 10-20 day courses two to three times per year.

You can order Vilon as lyophilized peptide in 10-pack at 20mg per vial.

Risks & Safety

Vilon is classified as very mild in the available literature and is among the most well tolerated compounds of the Khavinson bioregulator class. In the available preclinical and limited human studies, no relevant toxic effects have been documented.

Observed in research and reports:

  • Injection site: mild redness or transient irritation with subcutaneous use is the most common observation. The dipeptide is one of the simplest of the class and is considered low-reactivity.
  • Very thin human data: the data base consists almost entirely of small, Russian-language studies from the Khavinson environment. International replication remains limited. Robust long-term safety data in humans do not exist.
  • Course-based pattern: the use described occurs in short 10-20 day courses. No data exist on the safety profile of continuous administration.

This classification does not replace medical advice. Risk and responsibility for any actual use lie entirely with the buyer.

Still have a question?

Write to us, our team will help you.

Is Vilon approved or studied in humans?

Not approved. As of 26 October 2026 ClinicalTrials.gov lists no trial with Vilon. PubMed has small Russian reports in patients, for example with diabetes, without registry entries and without figures in the abstract. The other data come from cell cultures, mice and rats.

What is Vilon made of?

Of just two amino acids, lysine and glutamic acid, KE for short. According to the Khavinson concept it acts on the immune system. In the computer model KE bound to the transporter LAT1 more weakly than most other short peptides of the group.

What do the mouse studies on lifespan show?

In a 2000 study mice given Vilon from the sixth month of life lived longer and developed spontaneous tumours less often. In a second study by the same group with Vilon and Epitalon, Vilon increased activity and reduced lung adenomas, while only Epitalon extended survival there.

What is known about cancer?

In rats in which a carcinogen deliberately triggered bladder cancer, 56 percent with Vilon and 75.5 percent without had a tumour, precursors occurred half as often. This is an animal model. No statements about cancer in humans can be derived from it.

What happens in cell experiments?

In young human stem cells the activity of the SIRT1 gene rose six-fold and the protein amount 8.2-fold. In monocytes after an inflammatory stimulus Vilon, like four other Khavinson peptides, lowered the messengers TNF and IL-6.

Which side effects are known?

There are no solid human data because Vilon has never been tested in a registered trial. In mice the group describes no unfavourable effects of long-term use on development, which allows no statement on safety in humans.
