How it works

What the research shows
Selank showed an anxiolytic effect comparable to a tranquilizer in a clinical study, without its sedation (Zozulya, 2008). Semax raises BDNF and TrkB (Dolotov, 2006). For the fixed combination there is no separate study, the benefit derives from the individual compounds. Most research comes from Russia.

The abstracts give no measured values on the effect. According to Zozulya 2008 the anxiolytic effect of both was similar, Selank also had an activating effect. According to Medvedev 2015 unwanted effects of phenazepam were less frequent with Selank. Studies with Selank alone, not with the blend.

Neither Selank nor Semax nor the blend is listed on ClinicalTrials.gov. The human studies on the single compounds come from Russia and are only published as journal articles. As of 26 Oct 2026. 8

Side effects
- Generally well tolerated, occasionally mild irritation of the nasal mucosa (nasal).
- Rarely headache, inner restlessness if taken too late (semax part).
Storage
Before mixing the powder is robust, normal room temperature (around 20 to 25 degrees) is fine, ideally kept in the dark. After mixing, keep in the fridge (2 to 8 degrees), do not freeze. It stays good there for at least 4 to 6 months with barely any loss of potency, in practice considerably longer. Swirl or shake to mix, both are fine.
