What is Test/EQ Mix 400?
Test/EQ Mix 400 is a ready-made oil solution of two compounds: 200mg testosterone enanthate and 200mg boldenone undecylenate (Equipoise, EQ for short) per ml, 400mg/ml in total. One vial holds 10 ml and needs no mixing. Both esters are long, so the blend is built for few injections per week and steady levels.
Testosterone is the body's main androgen. Boldenone is a testosterone derivative with one extra double bond that comes from veterinary medicine and was never approved for humans. In a research context the combination is seen as a slow building blend with its own testosterone base.

One, two or three compounds

Simplified: the same compounds do not mean the same amount per ml. Every extra compound brings its own side effects.
How it works
Both compounds bind the androgen receptor in muscle, where they drive protein synthesis, nitrogen balance and strength. Testosterone is partly aromatized to estradiol and partly converted to DHT. Boldenone aromatizes less and is somewhat milder on the androgenic side.
Boldenone is also known for stimulating red blood cell production. Together with the testosterone share this can push hematocrit up markedly. The undecylenate ester is very long (half-life around two weeks) while enanthate sits at about 4 to 5 days, so the full effect builds over several weeks.

Injection
The blend is given intramuscularly, usually into the glute, thigh or shoulder. Use a thicker needle to draw up and a thin one (23G to 25G) to inject. Disinfect the stopper and the site first. Rotate sites regularly so tissue does not harden.
Because both esters are long, subcutaneous injection into belly or thigh fat is possible in principle, with a short needle and no more than about 0.5ml per site. If redness, pain or lumps appear, go back to intramuscular injection.
What the research shows
For testosterone it is well documented that muscle mass and strength rise with the dose: supraphysiologic doses over ten weeks increased muscle size and strength in healthy men (Bhasin, 1996). In a dose-response study fat-free mass and strength grew with every step while HDL fell in step (Bhasin, 2001). The same data show hemoglobin and hematocrit rising linearly with the dose (Coviello, 2008).
There are no controlled human studies on boldenone; experience comes from veterinary use and observations in users. No study exists for the fixed combination, so expectations are derived from the single compounds. Research in strength athletes also shows that steroid cycles cut HDL sharply (Hartgens, 2004) and go along with lastingly higher blood pressure (Rasmussen, 2018).

Strength gain in 10 weeks1
Healthy men, weekly injection of testosterone enanthate or placebo, gain in kg
Trial with testosterone enanthate alone, not with the blend. The abstract gives no figures for the placebo with training group. Mood and behaviour did not change in any group.
Blood lipids under several anabolic steroids4
Change in percent, 19 strength athletes, self-chosen cycle over 8 or 14 weeks
Percentages calculated from the mean values in the abstract: HDL from 1.08 to 0.43 mmol/l, apo-A1 from 1.41 to 0.71 g/l, apo-B from 0.96 to 1.32 g/l, Lp(a) from 189 to 32 U/l. Six weeks after stopping the values had not yet recovered. Nandrolone decanoate alone did not change blood lipids in the second part of the study.
High blood pressure in users5
Share with systolic hypertension on 24-hour monitoring, strength athletes
Systolic 24-hour average 132 vs 124 mmHg. Aortic distensibility was 21 percent lower in current and in former users than in controls, so the aorta was stiffer.

Side effects
- Blood count: hematocrit and hemoglobin rise, often more with the boldenone share than with testosterone alone. Thicker blood raises the risk of thrombosis, so have hematocrit checked before, during and after a cycle.
- Lipids and blood pressure: HDL drops, apolipoprotein B rises and blood pressure can climb for good. Measure regularly rather than guess.
- Estrogen: testosterone aromatizes, boldenone less so. Water retention and sore nipples up to gynecomastia are possible, so check estradiol in the bloodwork.
- Hormone axis: your own testosterone production is suppressed, testicle size and fertility drop. After the cycle the axis needs weeks to months.
- Other: acne, oily skin, hair loss if predisposed, restlessness and a clearly increased appetite that is typical for boldenone.
Heart and vessels carry the load over years, which is why blood pressure, lipids and hematocrit belong to every cycle.
Tolerability
Frequency in the HAARLEM study
Out of 100 users, how many had the event. One cohort without a comparison group, participants chose compounds and amounts themselves.
| Event | All 100 users |
|---|---|
| At least one side effect8 | 100% |
| Lower libido after the cycle8 | 58% |
| Fluid retention during the cycle8 | 56% |
| Agitation during the cycle8 | 36% |
| Acne8 | 28% |
| Breast tissue growth (gynecomastia)8 | 19% |
Four participants had a serious event: heart failure, pancreatitis, suicidal thoughts and a flare of ulcerative colitis. One year after the start the observed effects were back at baseline.8
Storage
Store at room temperature, in the dark and in the original packaging, out of reach of children. Do not put it in the fridge, because cold makes the compounds crystallize out of the oil. If you see crystals, warm the vial in your hand or in warm water and swirl until the solution is clear again. Disinfect the stopper before every draw.
